This training encompasses all of the intricately related systems and structures of the foot and lower leg including neurological, circulatory, skin, and the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. |

Haydar B. Ozcan Dr Haydar B. Ozcan is a Podiatric Surgeon and Fellow of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons. He has over 15 years of experience and practises at Eastpoint Podiatry, and Centre for Podiatric Surgery & Medicine (CPSM) at RPAH Medical Centre Newtown. Following Podiatry school, Dr Ozcan completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Science and Exercise at Sydney University in 2001 and completed his Masters in Podiatric Medicine from Curtin University in 2003. Following that he has successfully completed his surgical residence in 7 years, and qualified as a Foot & Ankle Surgical Fellow of the Australian College of Podiatric Surgeons. He worked at St. George and War Memorial Public Hospitals, and undertaken educational rotations within the orthopaedic and fracture units in Great Western Hospital (UK) and Podiatry Institute (USA). He is directly involved with over 2500 surgical cases in the last 6 years, and spent a year of international residency with eminent foot & ankle surgeons around the world. He presented his evidence based research papers and case studies on topics such as Capsular Repair of arthritic joints, Interdigital Neuroma, Outcomes of Bunion Surgery, and Use of External Fixator in bone lengthening on national and international circles. He works as a lecturer at the Podiatric Medicine masters program at University of Western Sydney, in neurovascular disorders, podiatric surgery courses. He often presents to health professionals on variety of topics related to Podiatric Medicine, runs regular workshops on lower limb injection techniques, complex pathomechanics of foot disorders, and lower limb anatomy and physiology workshops on cadavers. He is on the board of Australian Podiatry Association (NSW) and affiliated with American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. Haydar also works regularly at a youth charity organisation dealing with troubled and underprivileged youth and migrant families of Western Sydney area. Leigh BirchleyLeigh has been a registered, accredited podiatrist since 1996. She completed her undergraduate studies by winning both the Eulactol Award for Best All-round Academic Achievement and the Briggate Award for best Clinical Skills Achievement. Professional and educational development are very important to Leigh, she has qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, completed a Masters Degree in Health Science (Podiatry) and plans to continue her education with another Masters Degree in Public Health. Previously, Leigh as the principal podiatrist, owned and operated three of her own clinics in Sydney's inner west. She has developed exceptional clinical skills in treating all types of foot conditions and always provides a premium standard of care to her patients. Biomechanics and the function of the foot during the gait cycle is another area Leigh has an interest in. She has a wealth of experience treating problems caused by faulty or inefficient lower limb biomechanics and/or a poor foot structure, either inherited or acquired. She has a special interest in podo- paediatrics and loves working with child patients and their parents. Leigh enjoys developing a collaborative alliance with her patients and aims to educate and involve them in their own treatment plan.
