Biomechanics & Orthoses

Prevent injuries save time and money. It is paramount for any active person to get their posture and gait to be assessed by an experienced podiatrist regardless of age or activity level. Remember that most orthopedic injuries are different than your common head or tummy ache. By the time you start feeling the pain, it might indicate an advanced level of wear and tear and it could be too late to reverse. By this I refer to areas of damaged cartilage due to faulty biomechanics.

Currently, about 19 000 hip and 20 000 knee replacements are performed for osteoarthritis in Australia each year.  This number is increasing each year and our aim should be to reduce this number by preventing injuries especially due to faulty mechanics. If it was your car with a faulty balance, you would fix it straight away. Do not put up with pain and discomfort on your feet and posture. If you already own tens of different pairs of inserts and still have pain, may be it is time for you to visit us at Eastpoint Podiatry and we will put you on the right path.

Orthoses/Orthotics

Orthotics are bit like prescription glasses. They are and must be custom fitted.  Every foot is different and become faulty at different level so the orthotics must be individually customised to work efficiently under the supervision of your accredited podiatrists. Some practitioners might not be able to recognize faulty biomechanics, and not be able to offer the full range of intervention. We have seen over 30 thousand patients with varying degree of foot problems and we constantly watch people walk every day.  Therefore a visit to Eastpoint Podiatry will save you a lot of time and money.
